The tiny house has lights! Alabama Power Company came last week and hooked up to the house so by workday on Saturday morning - thanks to my dad and Jim Jones - we had working power! An amazing step! Thanks to seven great volunteers we made exciting progress this weekend. My father and Bill Barnes worked on putting in outlets and hookups for lights, Jami, Tommy and I worked on siding, Marshall and Phillip Steward worked on the roof and Joe made the rounds helping everyone! Our primed siding is up on all sides but one and we even managed to get one of our recycled windows put in temporarily. Still a long way to go, but looking more and more like a "real" house with every passing week.

The tiny house has seen its first new year and hopefully big changes are coming over the next few weeks! Our big news is that power was run to the property over the holidays and thanks to my father and family friend Jim Jones, the house is ready to be hooked up! On Saturday we made significant progress on the electricity, worked on the last of the porch roof, and primed all the siding. Thank you to the usual suspects - Papa, Tommy, Joe and Marshall - and to new helpers Jim Jones and my niece LizAnne! And thanks to Lynn and Will for coming out. And Happy Birthday Joe!!!
